Difference between K8 and K9? - SV650.org

Hi Everyone,

I am on the brink of buying a SV650 and have the option of a K8 model (which is in black (the colour I want)) or a K9. Is there any difference between the K8 and the K9? I really want this bike in black and the garage are offering it (k

for the same price as the blue K9 model but have thrown in an alarm. I just wanted to check if there are any major differences and if I should hold out for a black K9 one from another garage?

No difference as far as I am aware apart from colour schemes. I wouldn't pay K9 prices for a K8 bike and the Alarm is not a value adding feature for me.

Thanks everyone.

Just spoken to the dealer who says there's no difference between the k8 and k9 model except colours etc.

Apparently the ABS only came with the European model.

If anyone can think of any other differences, would be great to hear them.

And there was me thinking we were European now!
I had a black K9 but it used to chase the postman as I had to get rid!

You will be doing him a favour to take the K8 - so he should reward you likewise.

Tell him to chuck parts AND labour for the 600 and 4000 mile services in too

If you are after a black K8 then shop around for a better price than K9 prices.
A look on Biketrader showed this.
