Hey,
Anyone else experienced this? Spent a while on some A roads AND motorways running on a single cylinder, like a bloody 1960s classic, thump-thump-thump. Hopefully I didnt damage the engine?! Wasnt able t stop regularly Thankfully had just read the recent issue of Ride with a review on the SV650Sport so had an idea what was happening, without panicking! What would the suggested solution be, aside from not getting wet! Bokki |

Yep, probably the most regularly discussed topic on this forum for the SV
![]() Solutions include fitting the obligatory fender extender to the front mudguard, using silicone grease around the front spark plug lead where it joins the spark plug. Also there is a little water drain hole that gets crammed with gunk to drain water from the base of the spark plug engine recess, it exits on the right side of the front cylinder case and needs clearing with a suitable pointy implement. |

Get a front mudgaurd extension (for the rear of the mudgaurd). this does really well to eliminate water fouling the front plug. Its a quite well documented problem actualy, its suprising that suzuki never saw it nessecery to make the front mudgaurd longer at the rear as standard

For no more than £20 it is the best mod for an SV.

![]() Busters are out of stock at the moment, i've ordered one for my GSXR front fender, bloody 8th of august b4 it arrives, you can spray in some 4D40 or Gt85 in the mean time to help fight off the wetness. |

Maybe the have some fancy Wd40 - GT85 system hooked up to there SV's so they give the front plug a blast of juice ever few mins, only when it's raining of course ... |

Cheers guys,
I realise its probably a very popular topic, always find it easiest to start a new thread tho! Do I have to remove or lower anything to clean around the spark plug? And should I check the spark plug for soot etc...? Anyone got links for buying said guards? Bokki |

Not sure what year of bike you own but here's a link to one for a 99-02 SV.

Just let it dry out and fit the fender extender.
