Default If you had a grand to spend on tweaking your SV

If you had a spare grand and a slightly tired stock 4k SVs what would you spend the money on?

A decent rear shock (hagon or similar), fork springs and oil to suit my weight. A fresh set of sports touring tyres such as the dunlop road smarts / michelin pilot road 2s / avon storm ST. And about 30-40 tanks of fuel and a map of the UK

Well within budget

Jambo

Edit: In short it depends what you mean by "tired" if the brakes are screwed, you should probably look at them too. If you've got a spare grand do a track day too, you won't regret it.

same as above.

Decent rubber, some minor suspension upgrades, a more comfy seat, fly screen (i have a naked btw) heated grips and rear rack.

And a tent.

Then I'd get hopefully some fuel as well and ride around the UK for as long as money would sustain with my GF checking out all the most beautiful spots.

(I'd get a credit card too so that I could just keep on going actually, I couldn't imagine anything better to bust a grand on, than my girlfriend and a tour...)

maybe in budget...

Need to know where you're starting from. Not sure which model you have from your post. But assuming a standard bike in decent nick:

Some sort of nice shock, Nitron I reckon. NTR Track mebbe for £425. I'm not sure what's hot these days but they're good, better'n my Ohlins.

Front end- sell standard forks, fit GSXR forks. Approximately free, if the buying and selling works out but let's budget £200 for servicing and disaster recovery.

End can... Not really performance enhancing or anything but noise is nice and you can always say it's reducing weight. Remus Revolution for me please. Shop around, try and get something for £100-ish, that's what I paid for the Remus I had.

A screen- don't underestimate this, a good DB screen is awesome. F Fabbri for me. £50-ish

And a pair of Osram Nightbreaker headlight bulbs. £20.

And a single seat cowl if I wasn't carrying passengers, purely cosmetic but it looks ace.

And a Renntec sports rack or similiar for weekends away. Or if funds allow a topbox and rack.

And I think that leaves enough in the pot for a sensible set of tyres.

Then I'd spend the rest on hookers.

I'd do the following.

A Nitron shock (Ordered, hopefully arriving by the end of the week)
Racetech fork springs and heavier weight oil. (Just fitted, awsome.)
A pair of Pilot road 2's (Fantastic after the standard tyres)
A double Bubble screen (Next on the shopping list)

Maybe a custom paint job

??

£425 Nitron shock
£200 (for the forks disaster fund )
£100 end can
£50 screen
£20 bulbs
£175 sensible tyres
----
£970 TOTAL

Out of curiousity, what exactly does 30 quid get you with a Scottish Hooker!?

Slightly tired? What is wrong with it?

First thing that I would do is look at giving it back a little sparkle. Suspension (springs, shocks, emelators) would be high on the list, but a few tubs of grease, anti-seize, some tools if required, bearings where required would be the top of the list. How's your chain and sprockets? A chain oiler would also be right up there on the list.
The rest are really just farkles. Things like a screen are nice, but only if there is a problem for you with the stock screen. I'd put protective gear above farkles.

Cheers
