Default Front suspension setup

I know this has been covered loads. i spent hours looking through old posts. But still yet to find a definitive answer.

I am 15.5 stone kitted up. I have a 2000 curvy, and want to uprate my front springs to match my weight.

I am quite as new rider, so won't need ridiculous hooning suspension, just a nicer, less divey setup.

Myself and a friend can do all the work.

Am I right in thinking that with my weight I will need 15W oil and possibly linear springs?

Thanks

Richie K

There's a reason for that - there is no definative answer.

There may be some assistance that others can give citing their own personal experiences, but the the absolute bottom line is that there is no such thing as 'right'.
Whatever works for you, on the roads you ride, the way you ride a motorcycle is right.
Which is why there's never going to be a definative answer despite many people thinking that there's some kind of magic formula.

I know this doesn't help you directly, but hopefully it will point you back to the threads you have previously read, but with a different understanding - take some general pointers from the extensive number of posts on this subject and make an estimation of what you may need - then ride it, it's the only way you'll know.

Probably 15w and 0.9 springs would give you a better setup

I've personally really liked the WP progressive springs and 15W oil that i've been running for the last 18months, 15.5st fully kitted too on a 2001 curvy.
