Default Shout at me, I am an idiot.

I was moving the SV around the garage today and over balanced, dropping her very slowly on her right hand side. As she lay down the front indicator bulged and then shattered. The saddest part of this, she went down really slowly because I did not have the strength to hold her up, but just enough to make sure that she did not drop, so there is no other damage other than a 5mm scratch on the edge of the fairing.

Once she was down I was able to get into a good position and pick her back up, which took some doing, where upon I ripped something inside and am now back in bed with the old pain flaring up again. I had been pain free for almost six weeks prior to this and feel like I have ripped old scars. I am such an idiot. Carol was really sweet and has said that it hardly matters, indicators are easy to fix, but that is besides the point. I am really cross with myself.

I have not even been for a ride yet and I have still dropped her, not fair. Oh well, time to get a new indicator then.

Wonder what I can find at work that is both cheap and pretty?

That's the best kind of drop, minimal damage. Doesn't stop you feeling like a complete t1t though. Everyone's done it.
Hope you heal up as quick as the bike will!

Hey hun

We all done it !! Shame you hurt yourself hell fast chick !!! I have some indies in me Mums garage, if you cannot plastic melt it back together let me know I will see what I can find, been ages since I laid eyes on them.

I put my indies back together with heat and melted the plastic back together, held out and looked OK as was done from inside. Depends on how bad it is I suppose.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement folks, I do feel really stupid. If I was actually riding her, I could have passed it off as an enthusiastic off, but no. I was moving her around the Garage to make room because we have three motorbikes, two mountain bikes and the generator for Carols band's PA. Silvie went down on the sloping concrete bit that joins the garage to the road, so had not even made it to Tarmac before I dropped her.

Thanks for the offer of one of your spares Shelly, if I am unable to find a nice cheap pair at work (Halfords) I may ask you about one.

As to why I struggle to pick my SV up, until very recently I have been suffering with chronic pain due to major surgery in 06. Things had improved so much that I have been off the TENS for about three months and have hardly had to take pain killers at all recently. I am hoping that this is just a flair up and will fade away again.

Oh well, hopefully this week the new bits for my CG will arrive and Carol can put my little bike back together. I miss Henry, but Silvie is my one true biking love, even if I treat her badly and drop her in the garage because I am a (rhymes with hat!).

How is CG repair going? Did you strip the top end in the end to see if top end had grenaded itself?

We have all dropped bikes. Better to get it out of way sooner.

Picking bikes up is all technique.

Bend down, push back against seat and lift. You can even lift some overweight POS like this, like BMW or goldwing or something.
