That sticky about unmarked cop cars up there ^^^^
Does anybody else other than me and the other guys who asked for it actually want it? Do the other guys who asked for it still want it?
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=137753 There's debate over whether it's of any use to the majority, a few seem to think they wouldn't remember the stuff in it when they needed to. I'm sure nobody could recite the list for no reason, but I think seeing the make/model/colour of car on the road seemingly paying you too much attention, would be just the prompt you needed to think now I'm sure I saw that car on that list, and help decide whether it's just some guy playing chase the rabbit, or a copper clocking your speed. Sure folk won't remember reg numbers, but somebody might remember "Birmingham registered 05 plate" I think knowing there's an unmarked Silver Yamaha FJR around is good info for Madlanders ride outs. But then I'm a bit of an elephant to be honest (in more ways than one ), that may just be the way my weird funnily wired up brain works. So here's a poll, if you want it we'll clean it up and keep it, if not, no point in flogging a dead horse so we'll delete it. Votes and opinion from outside Madlanders invited too. I posted on there, mostly because I was stunned to see what I did. However, I can't remember what I had for breakfast.....let alone a dozen unmarked cop car details.
I do M5 from Brum to Cheltenham and back every day - Grand Total of 90 miles a day. Due to the high mileage and cost of fuel, I sit at 60mph behind a lorry matching my speed. Therefore this ain't an issue for me so much......as never speeding. Therefore voted as a No.

Definately. As long as people are posting in it when they see things then it is useful.
There are patterns emerging. Lots of unmarked Volvo's for example. Doesn't do much harm in keeping it either, and i certainly am cautious around newer Volvo's and Vauxhalls.

I don't really see the need for an unmarked car thread as there is a variety of cars round here, and plate numbers.
Its easy to spot an unmarked car if its in front of you cos you can see the lights on the parcel shelf in some of them, or the different lights. |

Yeh I know, but you don't tend to concentrate on the number plate of the vehicle behind, although I guess if you did catch a glimpse of a few letters from a plate it may be that one chance you get lucky.
I suppose if everybody tries to update it regularly its worthwhile. |
