Default Camcorders

Other forums are useless!.

I've ordered a dogcamsport clamp that can be fitted almost anywhere on the bike. Now I just need a proper(ish) camcorder as I've only got a digital camera at the moment.

I fancy HD and the Toshiba P10 and P30 are very cheap! However I'm not sure if something cheap like these would be any good on the bike in terms of stabilisation & frame rate.

Any of you guys use a HD camcorder on the bike (that wont break the bank)

I don't fancy a bullet cam either as I'd like to be able to use the cam for holidays etc too.

guess it's down to personal preference really mate, you really wanna make sure the camera will do as many different things as possible. If you're only gonna be using it on the bike for 10% of the time then you need to make sure the camera fits the spec for what you're gonna be doing the other 90% of the time.

I should get my finger out and do some more videos but since we moved house the comp with adobe premiere and firewire has been in the garage as there's no space in the house...

I'd look at normal digital camera's, a friend was showing me his the other day (canon IIRC), does 720p@30fps for 250quid!

I never used my digital camera. I think the camcorder would realistically only really be used on the bike although I'd hope to use it elsewhere.

My existing camera (which has a broken screen on the back) does ok video but just want something a bit better, and with the Toshiba's at about £150 it's not a bad spend!

Look at the ones specifically designed for sport use as they tend to be more shock/vibration/water proof

Found a waterproof Sanyo and Panasonic, tried using my camera today and the results were pretty good. I mounted the clamp above the rev counter on the lip of plastic, the screen gave good wind shielding right up to the speed limit so I think that's the place to put it.

Got a second hand panasonic sd9, full HD and 3CCD and optical stabilisation, best for shaky shots, it's very impressive but falls down under acceleration. Mainly because it's clamped to the yoke I think would it be better on the tank or somewhere else? Heard telferizers are pretty good but again that's the yoke

I was looking for one of them on here before but no joy, don't really want to fork out £25 for a bit of metal that might be just as bad or worse.

The telferizer appears to be getting gab about vibration absorption but wondering if anyones used one?

Even have a shot of it in use too

However cadwell park wouldn't let us out with a camera on it, they say they've had some injuries from their use.
