I opened her up, and this is what i found...

3 days out of warranty....



the damage:


thats in the airbox, huge dirty crack in the bottom

leaving the lowers off for the winter now.

I'd contact Suzuki. I know Triumph are very understanding despite warranty periods being over.

Its worth a shot just calling Suzuki directly although to be fair, it might be that rim tape thats caused the damage...

Why? They help to keep a load of cr*p off the engine. They help protect the engine casings from the typical Suzuki paint peeling.

I'm keeping my lowers on to help keep the salt off the engine causing as it WILL start to eat away at it!

I have them on my Triumph and will be putting some on the SV when i can be bothered.

because idd drop the *******, and end up with a bill for new lowers in my hand, i have a steam/pressure washer that ill give the bike a good going over with to get the road salt off

belly pan is on my list of things i want

Don't go over board with the pressure washer, it'll flush out the grease in the bearings in headstock, wheels, swingarm etc.

Better to ACF50 it and keep the lowers on

But ill break it

I've done a few winters now and only have one inccident where i went down on ice but the crash bungs saved the bike totally.

Just invest in a set of R & G's
