Default 2010 holiday booked

Mrs B will be 50 in June - oops, I'm not allowed to tell anyone how old she is. But that is very old!

We leave on Eurostar, 1st class, to Paris. Across Paris to Gard Du Lyon, then the overnighter to Rome, via the Alps - 15 hrs so it goes through the Alps in daylight.

1 week in Rome, then back to Paris for a few days.

Ever done Eurostar before?

We went on for the first time this year and it was brill. I found it much more relaxing than flying, especially with the kids

Hope the Alps aren't shrouded in cloud when you pass through them

Not much of a holiday then

I'd like to take the Orient Express or the coast to coast ride on Canadian Pacific

Not much of a holiday stuck on a train for 15 hours!

I'd agree with you if it was the east coast line outside Corby, but this an altogether different experience.

Like Bri says he'll spill the champange & where would he put his caviar sandwiches if he was on the bike

Put the sandwiches in the topbox, wife on the back, then tour the alps in style! Not on a sweaty train
