Default How often does your radiator fan kick in?

Maybe I'm being paranoid here but my fan on the SV never seems to come on. Even when sat at a level crossings or in traffic the bike's fan never switches on. Is it normal for the bike not to need the fan very often? I don't think it's been on since I bought it in July...

go faster, lol. no it should not come on too often and as long as boiling water is not coming out of it then should all be ok, imo. ps what temp does it get up too should come on at about 94-96 deg

No temperature gauge on my bike. That's why I'm worrying a little because I'm unsure if my bike is overheating or is ok.

Mine doesnt come on till about 101. Its k5 though.
Bike always runs at about 87-92 so i have never had it on while riding.

If u want you can test what temp it comes on at by just running the bike at home.

I had the same dilemma last season with my newly purchased curvy. I shorted the plug to the switch and the fan ran so then took the switch off and tested as described in the Haynes..all tested ok. This season the fan has only come on once whilst in the shed and adjusting the scottoiler. Might be worth doing the same.. if not just for peace of mind.

Mine comes on at 104 then goes off at 98 when stood in traffic.
Normally runs at about 78 when travelling.
