Hello the name is Danie and sorry for the long story.
I have read the datatool removal thread in the tunning section. I have a problem with my datatool S4 cat 1. ![]() Me and a mechanic mate was fitting a tail tidy and motrax indicators to Cilla, my SV650Sk5, When it came to testing that all was working I proceeded to disarm the alarm in order to turn the ignition on, i noticed that the hazards did not flash, I then could not start the bike so the immobilizer had obviously kicked in. ![]() When i turned the ignition off the bike proceeded to arm the alarm as normal within 45secs, but then the alarm went straight to distress mode and kept doing so even when trying to arm it through the key fob. In order for myself to not upset the neighbors I left the ignition on over night disconnecting all lights as to reserve as much battery as possible. On return to the bike and connecting an external power supply to the battery did I notice that the Speedo clock lights were on but all digital info like time and millage was not displayed. I have checked all fuses, none have blown. I am now worried that the wire looming is finished and would like to fix the problem and keep the alarm but what ever i do it will cost me money. What to do iam confused .com |

the alarm will usualy have a fuse of its own which is seperate from the bike fuses, check that, if its blown it will cause the alarm to sound when the bike is turned off, usualy this is a small 2cm square rubber bit with a wire passing though it

The alarm will have its own wires to the indicators. I reckon you've cocked something up around this area, perhaps shorted it out while arming the alarm or similar?

In my case the alarm went nuts because the bike lost all power it thought the battery had been disconnected. I'm wandering if you have disturbed the wiring when fitting your tail tidy and caused a similar situation...
