Default Fitness shoes

My good lady wife has asked for a pair of these new miracle shoes

MBT, or Skechers "shape ups"

If you believe the bumf they are supposed to cause raical weight loss, tone calf, thigh, glutes, back and abdominals and also improve posture.
Her friend got a pair and to be fair has lost a lot of weight, but personally i think that may be because she actually went out walkng rather than sitting on sofa, ot sure how much actual effect the shoes had.

ANyone had any experience of these, good or bad.

Thanks, but dont need a lot of "faddy shoes wont do anything normal walking wont do on its own" as that is my opinion already

Thanks

My sister has them, and wears them most of the time, but i think her weights going up. Thats probably more to do with her diet than not walking thought.

She says their really comfy to walk in, if thats any help.

If you're on about what i think you're on about, i have something similar called "fit flops".
I wouldn't say they're a radical weight loss implement, but they do make you're posture act differently when walking in them.
Don't be a meany and buy her some, you never know she might repay you in a way you didn't expect.

I have fit flops for work, and haven't noticed a difference. However, my friend has the skechers ones and says she feels worn out after wearing them, I tried them and they did feel like they gave you a workout, my legs and bum were sore after half an hour of wearing them, whereas the fitflops no difference.

Oh and if you do a search for *discount fitflops* you will get 5% off at fitness footwear. Also, the MBT's aren't worth the extra, IMO, just the same as the Skechers.

Careful, if that's a possibility he might buy you another pair.

Hmm... they can be good for some people - and others have reported their backache etc getting worse. That's not much help to you, is it? But I think it highlights that they're not a 'one size fits all' (sorry) solution.

There's an article about MBTs in The Independent here.

My personal opinion is that you should get yourself assessed by a physio or osteopath first to find out whether your particular biomechanics would be improved or worsened by wearing MBTs.

just get her a pair KG, if they are crap she has no one to blame but herself and it saves you trying to think of a present for her xmas.
