The execution of Gary Glitter

Just watched this now,,, Humm,,,, Surprised that something like that could be made/aired on the Tv.

Anyone watched it? What did you think..

Yeah I watched it too. Surprised they got away with making it - fictitious or not. It was a bit weird tbh but I think it hit the mark in the sense it will get people talking not only about the Gary Glitter case but also about the death penalty in general.

Personally I think it should be brought back but who or for what crime is the difficult issue. Perhaps each case would be on its on merits and a crime so heinous would be right to bring about the death penalty, i.e. where a "life" sentence is just too good for some people!!!

I wached it on 4 +1 before I went out for MW2, Thought it was quite good. In favour of the death penalty here.

I thought it never fully went away, last I heard you can still be executed for treason. I don't know if I agree with the death penalty at all though, too much playing god for my liking & also too many chances for (irreparable, due to the death) mistakes.

No it went for that too. You can only now be executed for being a illegal immigrant working as an electrician.

AS for death penalties. Do you not think there have been enough guilty verdicts overturned in the past 30 years to ever contemplate the prospect of the return of the ultimate sanction.

It never worked as a deterrent and it could be argued that it would encourage extreme and violent resistant to capture and if you have committed one capital offence there is nothing to prevent you committing more

I have Sky+'d this for me to watch when I get back home. I just happened to spy it when I was looking through the planner and thought it sounded interesting.
