Default Presents for forces

When I heard about Dangerous Dave, I went and gave very generously for a poppy (I always buy one, and I have quite a number around and about from the previous years, but this year I donated considerably more than usual) - I thought this was more appropriate for me than the collection Lozzo is organising.

For some time I've been wondering about sending something to the forces. I saw in another thread about sending mags, but does anyone know how I'd go about sending a random soldier a crimbo present, and what sort of thing they'd like, would be allowed and how I'd go about doing so?

Thanks

I'm sure they would (well, it probably depended on the mag, but you can't go too far wrong with Razzle - it's kinky, it's naughty, it's £1.40 (one pound forty)), but I thought that they were not allowed to be sent.

Probably not.

On a serious note, something as simple as a football, cricket set. Couple of packs of cards.

I think you did the best thing as do all serving and non serving members of the HM Forces.

They all get confiscated before you get out in theater
but a few do slip through the radar.. but if caught then it's a chargable offence.

same as if you take your own laptops, they all get scanned for pornographic material....

But if you put it in a hidden file and renamed ***.ric or whatever, then renamed back once out in theater....

but I never got told that by the RMP.. Honestly

Thanks for the input guys.

Looks like a cricket set would not be allowed as it's too big. Will have a good think about it.

thanks

Non scented soap and assorted toiletries always go down a treat. As do wetwipes and toothbrushes. Things not to send include aerosols or food.

I know from my time on various tours of duty that you always tend to run out of toiletries at the most inopportune moments.

BTW, good for you for thinking about it. Mucho respecto.
