Default Urinating on the poppies

Would be interested in peoples views regarding the Phil Laing incident as a District Judge has adjourned sentencing for 2 weeks

Was it a drunken antic or defiling a war memorial?

Clearly a drunken antic, but send him away for a short period and make an example of him. Defiling war memorials/grave stones or anything in rememberance of the dead is unnacceptable in any circumstance.

Wondered if this'd pop up. fecking clown, he must have been aware of what he was doing. For anyone that's never been to barkers pool it's a memorial in the middle of a massive busy street, he didn't just stumble up an alley or through a gate and pee without looking it's the only thing for metres!

He came from a private school in macclesfield or somewhere up to sheffield to do sports studies - don't think the uni have made there decision yet.

dont worry - he wasnt at sheffield uni, he was at hallam, (it explains a lot :P) but it says he is a student in todays paper, not that hes been asked to leave

also, looking at the picture, he's actually peeing on the poppies, it looks like a very deliberate drunken antic

This guy is a total clown. I can't think of much else constructive to say. He is an idiot that needs to be taught some respect.

You can't mistake a War memorial. If he'd just wanted to have a pee he'd have used an alleyway or a doorway, or even, God Forbid, a toilet. Deliberate act IMO.

Shame they no longer birch people!

Looked like a deliberate act to me. When I've needed a pee on a night out after drinking to much I've found an alleyway or gone behind a tree or in a bush.

Peeing on a war memorial is the ultimate in disrespect IMHO.
