I love the front flip helmets and have one of these.

The whole front flips up and it also has a built in retractable sun shade (the red button on the side), so you have sun protection even if you forget your sun glasses. It cost me about £150, two years ago and it has proved to be comfortable even at speed. Only down side is that ear plugs are required if you go above 100mph because the roar from the wind is a loud if you have delicate ears.

If you want to know more, try here.

I've got a caberg flip and find it so much easier. easy to talk to other half at lights and yell at inconsiderate cage drivers and pedestrians. I also find i don't have to remove my helmet all the time
Had mine for 4 years and just replacing at the moment - Got a full face as well and defo prefer the flip

I bought a flip front - it was quite heavy and gave me terrible neck ache so I gave up with it and bought a full face Shoei which is much lighter - do miss the flip up bit though.

tbh weight is your issue and time on bike, long tours or dainty people go full face, short sprints or lots of off and back on bike go flip
and yes your other half uses full face as we asked him to stop scaring children by showing his face to often on rideouts
luv ya segs

i have both your warmer in full face in the winter, as for the flip face ideal when in a group easier to talk to your mates at lights and you need ear plugs which ever helmet you buy really.

I would not have another flip-lid.

I had a caberg V2 which was awesome until I headbutted the floor in it. I then had a caberg trip which was horrible. Internal airflow couldn't have been more wrong, the only place the air was directed was at your eyes, without the side effect of keeping the visor de-fogged.
But by far THE worst thing about the trip was that the lower extremes of your vision, for me the most useful part of your field of view was obscured by the daft shaped chinpiece! Safe or what?!

I would buy another shoei in a heartbeat (XR1000). I've had it a year now and it's still as snug as first week (though it took a few 100 miles to bed in), the visor has only fogged once (in a blizzard of sleet and hail, Yorkshire weather, now we had it tough!!). And it's matt black, so looks great with a black visor on.

But, I would not buy another flip-lid unless I had plenty money to spend. For similar cost you get far improved visibility.

But in the defence of flip-lids it was nice being able to smoke on the move.
