Default N.I.P. process time?

Can somebody confirm either/or must be received within 14 days or the date of issue must be within 14 days but allow for postage service making it 16-17 days before you receive it.???? that is providing it is post marked within 14 days.

I believe it must be posted within 12-13 days so that it could have made it within 14, but they're not expected to cover any delays in the postal service.

it must reasonably be expected to reach you within 14 days

if it was posted after 12 or 13, but the royal mail took a week, then tough luck I'm afraid

the only sure fire way to win on this is if the date on the NIP is at 14 days or later

its also up to you to go to court and either present the 14 days or later date on the NIP as evidence or if it is within 12 or 13 days, request evidence of posting on time. if you write to them asking for evidence of posting they'll just ignore you until that request comes via the courts. of course if the CPS know they are definitely outside the 14 days they may never summons you to court anyway, but that would rely on someone at the CPS looking intelligently at the case not just following process, often the first person to look at it intelligently is the prosecutor on the morning he arrives in court

tbh if its dated at 12 or 13 days and your not going to loose your licence because of it, your probably screwed, hold your hands up and take the fine/points
