Default Yellow curvy hugger

This year I have decided to spend a little cash on my yellow curvy and to make it look something to be proud of. I bought it from my brother-in-law as it just sat in his garage collecting dust with only 7k on the clock. Anyway I want to change the rear hugger, the one on the bike he sprayed himself, its not a perfect colour match nor has a perfect coat of paint, its doesn't look right on the bike.

So I contacted my local Suzuki garage last week and told them i was looking for a hugger in pearl lively yellow(Y9h) for a 2001 sk1, was quoted £116, which I'm happy to pay.

Had a phone call today saying they have ordered the wrong hugger (GSXR 750 rear hugger in yellow(Y9h)) which they apologised, but dropped the bomb shell by telling me that the hugger that I want is now a discontinued line.

Tried looking on the net and phoning around this morning before going to work if anyone has one available but I had no joy.

My question to the org is- Does anyone know where i can get my hands on a hugger which will fit a 2001 curvy in yellow,it must be colour coded to Y9h pearl lively yellow? Do Powerbronze or Targa or any other maker out there do a similar hugger and colour as the OEM Suzuki.

why dont you just get a normal one and take it to get sprayed profesonaly ,would be cheaper than £100 and they would colour match it for you

He makes a good point does Mr Preston.

And as it happens i have my old hugger for sale, just sitting in the shed gathering dust. And its black so no need to match it till you're good and ready since black goes with everything as we all know.

There is nothing wrong with the one thats on the bike at the moment apart from a couple of small cracks and the colour. As for putting a black hugger on a yellow bike, yes black does go with yellow and would look good, but when you've decided and made your mind up that this is what you are going to buy and then told its not available it has made me more determined to get what I want.

Thanks for the offer to buy yours, may take you up on that offer if I'm unable to find what I want. You never know someone might have one they want to sell,or someone may know where i can buy one, it might take several months, and as long as I still have the bike I shall keep looking.

The only thing the I'm worried about is, is this the right colour yellow for the 2001, the hugger itself look perfect.

A Y9H curvy looks very nice with a black hugger .. not that I'd know anything about matching things on a yellow curvy or anything

you will find however, if you do get one in the right colour, your bike will have faded so it will look odd anyway.
I have a OEM seat cowl on mine that is getting more matched as I leave in the sun over summer, and plenty of Tcut has toned down my Roca colour matched belly pan.

Besides they all get covered in crap, and black huggers don't show it as much
