Don't see the point of that sort of thing. Makes the military look like a joke

Glad I'm not on drugs! That was just freakishly geometrical. Had to stop after a couple of mins - marches do my frickin' rig. And did they nick their hats off the Orange Order?

Army folks aside this is a pretty std thing for marching bands. There are even competitions globally

Where I come from there is a big music history especially through marching bands and you get to see this thing every Xmas and Easter plus sometimes during the summer for the tourists.

I'm guessing that you're too young to remember the 'old days' of The Royal Tournanment when our forces did much the same thing (as well as other more military things such as the Gun Running competition) & were rightly admired for the precision they achieved ?

If you really think it makes the ". . . military look like a joke . . ." then I suggest you find a member of the RAF Regiment, Royal Marines or perhaps the Blues & Royal Mounted Regiment and tell them that.

P.S. if you do decide to take up the option in para 3 may I suggest that you have a very fast car with its engine running waiting nearby ?!!

Bloody fantastic.

And as for it making the military look like a joke......please explain your reasoning..

Discipline springs to mind here. The ability to learn long complicated moves is impressive.

I had better stop now as I think I could de rail this thread for wanting to big up the military.

And just to clarify that marching is an addition to the duties of our troops, QCS were recently in Afghanistan.
They can carry out their "tactical" role superbly and still amaze us with their "ceremonial" duties.

Take a look at them proving that they are amongst the worlds finest.

If you took a little bit of time to read any of Darren's posts you'll find he has very little good to say about anything, so it's not worth the bother explaining.
