Just a quick one, do you need to remove the front wheel to take the mudguard off like the Haynes book says? Got a fender extender and want to fit it but it will be a bit of a fiddle with just the side stand to get the wheel off. Thanks, Dave

No you do not need to remove the wheel to get the front mud guard off.

Put a bit of masking tape on it so you don't rub the paintwork on the forks as you pull it out...

When refitting the mudguard, i also found it helpful to stick the mudguard nuts to the inside of the mudguard with some double sided tape, as its a tight fit to get your hand in there.
