Default Took the SV plunge

Morning all,

After much debate, research, test rides and boring my colleagues to death, I decided that it would be easier to make an SV comfortable than getting a Bandit to loose 40kg and 2 cylinders. So I collected a Candy Red SV650S K7 on Thursday and haven't stopped grinning since. Comfort isn't actually as bad as I expected - though I might eventually lower the pegs.
The bike already has a Scotoiler and I have ordered a fender extenda and will fit heated grips sometime this week along with a gallon of ACF50 as I ride all year round. Regretably I will also fit a Motech rack for a topbox (please don't shout at me).

Now, after all the rambling above, the questions:

1) Do the pyrammid plastics huggers fit K7s? Their website says it does not fit the sport which is basically a K7 with fairing lowers.

2) The saddle seems to be a bit of a plank (OK, I may get used to it). Is the Gel one the same profile or different?

3) Can you jack the tank up for servicing when it is full (noob question)?

Thanks all for the advice.

1) Don't know, have to pass on that one................

2) buy a seat of ebay and get a local upholsterer to pad it out for you, might increase your bum-peg distance too.

3) You can prop the tank up, but I would wait until the level was lower, not sure if it would leak through the cap if it was full.

3) Yes but far easier if part full. Full tanks are heavy!

The saddle won't improve and you'll just grow to hate it.

Don't know about Pointy gel OEM being the same profile, but curvy gel ones are the same.

But to save you the expense of buying an OEM just get a gel insert put in by this guy. Comes recommended by Orger's

I have a K6 with lowers on and fitted one of their fender extenders. Don't think it'll be a problem. However I've just checked Ron Ayres Microfiche and it is a different part numer from the k6 & 7. Not much help really, some one far more intelligent will be along soon.

Welcome to the world of SV, you'll love it.

1) THere was some problem ascertaining whether the Pyramid fitted which 07 model when I bought my SV so got an expensive OEM - not dissapointed at all, but i did get it at cost due to lack of time for delivery to me.

Sorry this may not help but I am well satisfied with the Suzuki fitment.

The OP is asking about the hugger, not the fenda extenda.

I have one of those and that's ok.
