Default Clutch "mechanism"

afternnoon

just changed the clutch cable on sv650sk3 and whilst doing this noticed how little movement actually occurs when you pull the cable. what i mean is the rod that this is attached to and goes into the engine seems to actually only move 2mm so - surely thats not enough movement?

It needs way less than 1mm to break the clutch pack and allow slip.

yeah seems ok. i assume it must have always been like this, just wanted to know how much 'lateral' movement that bar/rod (sorry don't know what its called) should have when clutch engaged/disengaged?

Whatever it takes to operate the clutch, don't worry about the actual amount of movement there so long as it is smooth and works ok.
