Mod 1 is the coned layout thing I thought.
Probably a good idea to watch vidoes of it on youtube to familiarise yourself with the layouts. |

Hi there, i failed and then passed mine last July. My advice:
Get yourself very familiar with the layout and order, both on left and right handed circuits, so you arent worrying about where you are going and can concentrate on the riding. Get as much practise in as you can so you are familiar with the bike and know what the required speeds feel like so you are looking at the course not the speedo. Dont focus on the cones or you'll ride into them (voice of experience here ![]() Ignore stories about wet surface and safety, its perfectly manageable in all conditions. Deep breath and relax, its not that difficult as long as you know what to expect. Good luck and let us know how you get on ![]() |

I passed my MOD 1 last year too and the only thing I can say is relax and think. I was too nervous the first time and had 1 major - shoulder check on U-Turn and a minor - small rear wheel lockup on emergency brake. The course felt much bigger than what I was used to training on so to be honest it was easy to do. I just failed due to being a numpty on the obvious stuff.
The second time I did it I knew what was expected and so was much more relaxed although I had to have a second go at the avoidance due to hitting 31 MPH rather than the required 32 !!!!! Good luck, don't worry and you'll be fine. |

Did mine last December , main thing is just relax and look where you want to go .The swerve is easy enough even though like Amanda i had to do mine twice for the same reason 49kph instead of 50

Easy, if i can do it with no formal training then anyone can, i have zero confidence in myself lol.
I measured the course and made a diagram of the sizes, the official diagrams are incomplete. Theres a link to the diagram in my video of me practising. http://www.youtube.com/user/beabertb.../4/Y2W-SRj3DZ0 Good luck, cones are from tesco. If your doing it on a 125 really lean and give it some on the bend. Last edited by beabert; 13-02-10 at 08:23 PM. |

I passed mod1 on a 125cc in the wet first time, I found it fun to be honest its nothing to worry about just relax and dont panic .
And if you are on a big bike it should be a walk in the park. i was ragging to death this old 1980 of crappy Yamaha
