Default What to do?

Hi im just new to this forum and will get pics etc up soon,

I have a 99 sv 650 that I have had sitting in my garage for last few years, was surpluss after i got my R1. Now I want to start riding it again soon.

I put it in for an MOT and it needs a new chain and tyre.

I have ordered a sprocket and chain set 14t front 46t rear. Will this be any more fun to ride?

Any body have any other suggestions on things I could do to it? jack up kits etc?

Cheers
Greig

Is it an S or naked?
I would go higher on rear sprocket rather than lower at front, wears chain faster otherwise.

Lots of suggestions, how much do you want to spend?

A good service first. Start with a carb clean - they could well be gummed up. While you are here, clean and grease up the choke plungers and lubricate the cable. Might aswell lubricate the throttle cables and the clutch cables too

Drain the old oil. Fill up with halfords cheapy oil, and run the engine on a fastish idle for a minute or two. Drain oil, get the old filter off and fit a new one. Fill up with a good quality oil (castrol, mobil 1, motul etc etc). Drain engine coolant. Flush with distilled water. Refill with a good coolant.

Drain the brake fluid. Flush through with some fresh stuff, then bleed through new brake fluid.

Fill the tank up with some good petrol (Shell V-power) and go for a bloody good ride

come home, fit a topbox. use the bike for everyday use and never ever ever neglect another motorcycle like that again

is it a yellow one btw?
