Default Technical support: colours aren't displaying right

Currently got a sahara wide angle projector connected to a samsung laptop with windows 7. The cool blue wall paper and all other colours are displaying right on the laptop screen but the projector is creating an image which looks like a tellytubby has been murdered. The cool blue is showing as crimson red & black as grey etc.

Normally when this happens it's just the colours I.e. 16bit or 32bit OR it's the screen refresh rate like 60-80hz..

Tweaked these to no avail BUT when the laptop is restarted, the splash screens ("welcome to windows 7" or "shutting down") are displaying the correct colours, so there's some kind of gay ass software setting in windows 7 causing this.

Any ideas plz? Ta

nope, checked vga, checked projector settings, considered switching laptop but I'm stubborn and wanted to fix it. I was right saying that it was a software issue somewhere... bloody stupid "Intel display and graphics control centre" decided that it knew better than me. If in doubt, it's usually always some stupid 3rd party program messing with the settings.

There was a drop down box buried deep in the program which had switched to "Red" instead of "show all/RGB" why the feck anyone would ever intentionally set it to that I'm not quite sure.

sussed it in the end.. p.s. I'm not a geek

******s, I hate crap like that. Funnily enough I had the same program screw up a projector a couple of days ago.

I was going to try to be helpful and suggest that when this happened to me it was the cable that connected the laptop to the projector being fubared.

But that answer isn't the one that worked and worse still, isn't even funny.

I'll go away now
