Default Bmw s1000rr.

Now is the time of year when all the biking media get 1000cc sports bikes and do their obligitory group test. It seems that the Japs now have to live up to BMW's new S1000RR....Bike measured 190 bhp at the wheel. Thats One Hundred and Ninety. On a production roadbike.

GSXR1000 is "only" about 163.

Crikey

10 years ago, yamaha moved the goalposts with their R1. 6 or 7 years before that, Honda basicly invented the lightweight-but-powerfull big-bore motorcycle with the original fireblade.

I feel BMW may have moved the goalposts again.

10 years ago, if your WSBK full factory rocketship was putting out 190 you'd be well and truely chuffed!!!

Oh, and BMW uk website say the top speed is "in excess of 200 km/h"

Nearly as fast as an SV then 190bhp to do 124mph - good going...

Looks good from that angle. If only they had done the same with the other side.

It looks like it has a lazy eye from the front

When you say new, is this the bike which has been out for about a year? They were offerring road tests at Loomies (Bike cafe), but I couldn't with my little 33bhp licence!

Dodgy eye thing going on at the front, but they do styling tweeks to all their bikes so whatever, it could be worse. I wouldn't jump on for fear of it jumping on me at the first corner O.O
