I am currently using a HTC Touch 2 and am pondering over either an I Phone or a HTC HD 2 as a replacement.
I have friends with an I Phone so have managed to have a play but the HTC HD 2 seems a bit less common/popular. So, can anybody on here give me any pros and cons ...... |

Well you'll get a lot of iphone bashing on here no doubt.
I've got an iphone, great phone, but if you get if for anything, its the games/apps. GTA chinatown wars is immense, and Street Fighter IV on the iphone is out of this world too. If games not your thing, then I'm sure they'll be plenty technical pros/cons coming up. |

I would wait for the HTC Desire which is basically an HD2 but running Android. Faster, better and not running windows mobile

Yeah - the HTC HD2 has been around for a while, and their next gen phones are being released in a couple of weeks. The Desire and Legend both look very good.

The HD2 is supposed to be a really nice phone but my mate recently got one and is now gutted because it won't be supporting the new microsoft phone OS which is supposed to be very good, I'd hold off getting either at the moment as there are rumours of a new iPhone sometime too.
Wait and see which comes first, the Windows 7 Phone Series devices or the iPhone 4G. if nothing else it will drop the prices of the devices you are looking at if you don't want the latest and greatest. |

I'm pretty disappointed as I was looking at the legend and hoping it would be on T Mobile or Virgin. Unfortunately, Vodafone have secured an exclusive on the handset which means I wont get the advantage of a Virgin customer deal out of it.
I like the look of the Desire but I'm worried its a bit too large. |

Yup, had one since release day.
Depending on where you ready they may be supporting mobile 7, the hardware certainly will. Pros: As you say - different to everyone else with an iPhone Hoooooge screen - nice and bright when in the sun Lots of developers doing nice bits and bats for it - check http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=531 GPS\Satnav works well Camera can turn some good piccies out Takes a standard micro SD card Cons: It is big - you have to remove it from your pocket to sit down. Not major but worth mentioning Battery life - give it a beating on wifi and you can kill it in under 2 hours It's Windows - it crashes. Can go days without a hitch, then lock up 3 times in a day If you're a techie kinda guy then it's a nice piece of kit if you like to tinker and don't mind it locking up. If you want a phone that just works without any issues out of the box - I'd presonally say look elsewhere. If you want any mor info feel free to give me a shout. Phil
