Default Air filter change

I am about to do the 11000 service and "should" replace the airfilter.
Is it worth me putting a better filter in than the standard Suzuki one ?

I have just spoke to a mechanic at a local dealer and he also says not to bother. He reckons that its not worth the extra cash and hassle of cleaning it if I ride everyday in traffic. He said that the diesel fumes would get the perfomance ones clogged up easier than a standard one and by the time I have cleaned it and dried it it is more hassle than it's worth.

Yes do it. Then you can add it to a list of all the modifications you have done to your bike in your signature. And you get a free sticker which you can add to your bike and let everyone else know you have an aftermarket filter fitted that see you as you ride around. Anyone that see's your bike or your signature will be impressed.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm there young man ?

I was all set to just get the OEM but now you put up a good argument for the K&N I am torn between the two......

I actually have a K&N fitted to the SV. The only reason I put it on was because of the additional induction noise. Pathetic really. On the flip side, I have had it fitted for the past 4 years. It just takes a little soapy bath once in while, dried on the radiator and a quick squirt of WD40 and back in it goes. Job done.

You don't need stickers to make your bike cool. You have a topbox. Nuff said. LMAO.

I don't think WD is sticky enough for cotton type air filters like the K+N.
