Default Dont buy cheap mirrors

Learnt the hard way. I am as tight as they come when it comes to parting with money & thought i would buy some "inexpensive" mirrors off Ebay for the Buell Fairing project.

They looked quite tasty & the price was very reasonable at £18.70 for the pair. As soon as they turned up I unpacked them & swivelled the head on one of them, it snapped clean off in my hand.......Damn. I thought i was just a bit ham fisted, fitted the other one, which has been fine.
I ordered another set which arrived the other day & guess what? The exact same thing happened again & it was the same side mirror
I then went for a ride yesterday & as I brought the bike into the yard I caught the mirror on the wall. Hey, guess what? I now have no mirrors!
Moral of the story? Buy decent quality stuff & it will be cheaper in the long run.
I've now got a different set of mirrors on order from the UK.

I am pretty sure thats its no coincidence then that I bought some off someone on ebay and recieved two right hand mirrors? lol

In the end I just went to the dealer and bought a pair of OEM mirrors.

Just as well - if they'd lasted long enough to go for a ride then you'd find they collapsed inwards once you got over 60mph. They're cheap for a reason.

Chinese sh*t is never worth the money. Yeah I know everything is made in china, but the unbranded stuff for bikes you get on ebay is appalling. You'er better off getting second hand OE stuff IMO.

Bought some cheap indies when I still had the SV...guess what happened to them...yep, they fell off!

Moral of the story is actually buy 'good' cheap/pattern mirrors, preferably from a shop so you have come back. I've bought lots of cheap mirrors and they've all been ok.
