I have a nephew

He's now 2 days old, and he has two eyes, two hands, two feet, 10 little toes, 8 little fingers and two little thumbs, a nose, a perfect little mouth, perfect little ears. I held him and he looked up at me and I sung him a little song

Me and Maria arn't ready for children yet, but if this is what it feels like being an uncle and holding a new-born, it must feel just fantastic when its your own

Awwww. The good (or bad, depending on your view) thing about nieces and nephews is you get to give them back so you get all the benefits of children but without all the diaper changing.

oh, its a good thing to give them back but i dont mind playing with them and looking after them and reading stories and stuff

he's gonna have quite a rounded ubringing...football from my older brother (his dad) and my twin brother, car and motorbike stuff from me and my dad, sciencey stuff from me, money teaching from his dad, how to be grumpy from my dad

my sister is also pregnant, i'm excited about her baby coming along

I have one Nephew (4), and one Niece (2). They're both awesome fun.

The best bit is when they get old enough to remember you, and get excited about you coming to see them

great news Matt i have been auntie Tara for just about 11 years now, its wonderful you get all the best bits, but Matt when you and Maria are ready be prepared for completely different set of emotions nothing prepares you for the rush of love you get when you hold your own but for no enjoy being uncle Matt

Wooo. I have 4 nephews and 1 niece

I can remember all of my 3 Scottish nephews as babies, but now they all tower above me now

Not quite the sweet angels they once were

But my brothers children are still sweet and nice.

Its quite cool being an Uncle (you'll be too young to remember this Matt!)

I rang my brother when i got the tet message when I turned my phone on firday morning...he blubbered to me "i got a baby boooyyy"

Tim, my neice easily remembers me and maria, she gets very excited when she knows she's going to see us...and anyone else for that matter Its a real treat watching little ones grow up, I'm interested to see how my nephew develops and what will be similar to my eice's development and what will be differant

god i hope he likes motorbikes

Mav - i used to watch the Man From U.N.C.L.E on bbc2 when they used to air it, i thought it was cooool

as an only child I have no niece or nephews but im sure it must be nice to be able to hand them back.

Yes, that was one big advantage

Having 2 of my own I now see the folly of my handywork
