How to Split the Headlight Assembly/Cluster? (SVS K6) - SV650.org

How on early do you do it?
I've been trying for close to an hour, and managed to have snapped one of the clips so far

8 clips, 4 on the top, 4 on the bottom... any tried and tested methods of being able to open the damned thing! lol

I looked online, think I ran about 2 or 3 minutes at a time in an oven on a baking tray & wet tea towl at ~150c.

This melts/softens the sealant they use to join the 2 halves. Take the rubber boots and bulbs out first eh

Little and often, when it starts getting stiff put it back in for a couple of minutes more.

Be gentle, or you'll break the plastic tabs

Get some neds to try to nick you're bike, and hope they break the mounting lugs for the head light in the process
