Went to my girlfriends the other day on the bike. Hopped back on it after around 4 hours.
Turned ignition to on and tried starting her up. She didn't quite start up first time, so i turned the ignition to off and waited around 10 seconds like i usually do. When i turned the ignition back on though, there was no power. No lights, dashboard didn't light up, nothing. Whats going on there? I have no idea about electrics so please reply in the most basic, easy to understand english as possible! Thanks. |

Main Fuse I suspect is the main culprit. Thats where I would start, check all of them and also check for loose or undone battery connections.
What year and model SV is it ?

Yeah, i was going to check the battery first.
Regarding the fuses, does the fuse box hold spares (providing the previous owner didn't use them), or will i need to go out and buy one somewhere? I've never investigated a fuse box on a bike before. Its a 2002 curvy. |

OK the fuse box doesnt actually have the main fuse in it on the curvey. Underneath the fuel tank by the riders seat is a translucent green box and the main 30amp fuse is in there. Its kinda of tucked in behind the frame. If you have a look its easy to spot.
If you've got now power whatsoever and your battery terminals arent loose / done up correctly, thats the one I would check first. Of course if it has blown you'll need to work out what has caused it otherwise it'll keep blowing. I cant remember if the fuse box has a spare(s) in it. I suspect more than likely not... Best bet is to pop the fuse out and check it and then if it has gone ( it'll be very obvious if it has ) take it with you to Halfords or somewhere similar and get another.

No, You will need to get some.
![]() On the Pointy its got two main 30Amp fuses which could of blown, if not I had the same thing except I parked went back to the bike 2mins later and no electrics nothing! No blown fuses. What had happened was the ignigtion cable which connects to the main loom had sparked and f**ked everything. So now awaiting suzuki to get the part in and luckily its a '08 so still under warranty so nice new shiny ignition switch getting fitted free of charge! Unfortuently they dont give you 10 hours back for waiting for AA and the AA Relay. Garage Looking at it, temp fixing it. Then going to Suzuki Garage them checking the problem themselves and then when they ring the waiting for them to fix it. ![]() I'm not moaning at all! IDIOTS! ![]()

No it hasn't, it has one thirty-amp fuse and one spare - exactly the same as the curvy.
