Default Alternatives to the SV650 (if there are any :D)?

Just wondering if anyone could share their thoughts on a few alternatives to the SV650. As good a bike as it is, there must be a few alternatives that are similar in some ways.

Depending on your budget, I've heard good things about the new divvy. Might finally be a bike in the same class as the SV to rival it on all levels, although it is considerably more expensive

Old fazer, ER6, Versys, Hornet?
Bandit even?

Depends what you want and can spend. SV is an amazingly versatile bike.

Loads, depends what you want.

If you want a cheap middleweight semi-sporty cheap to insure V twin that you can buy cheap... No.

Being honest the SV is not the be all and end all of bikes, it all depends on what you want.Even with just the SV some prefer curvy, some naked and others pointy, half faired and fully faired. Budget or more expensive, individual taste.

There is a Cagiva Raptor 650. It has an SV lump in there, and I should imagine is far superior to the HysungthingddoodlewatsitsnameIforgottenbike, that uses the engine.

But then thats not your question is it?

If its anything like its big brother then it would be a crackin alternative, but not too many about.

Or you could go Gladys

I do think the SV is strange as a bike as there's not really anything in the same bracket.

Look at 600s, if you want a slow one there's is the bandit, fazer, hornet and probably some kwak one too. If you want a fast one theres a lot of initials, most of them R.
If you want a parallel twin commuter/DAS bike there's a GS500, ER5, CB5.

There's not really anything that's comparable to the SV in such terms. Only thing that seems similar is kawa ER6 and stuff, but they're a completely different engine layout and lots more expensive.
