Default Datatool System 4 won't disarm.

My Datatool System 4 Red seems so have broken.

The symptoms are:

- Indicators no longer flash (normally would be 2 frashes = armed 1 = unarmed)
- Wont unarm at all. Only way I can is to turn the ignition on and off which sets alarm off, then press fob and it will be unarmed.
- Randomly goes off.

I think its still in warrenty so will see what the crack is with that... Just thought id mention it on here and see if anyone else has a clue what the crack is.

rip the danm thing out and bin it.
you can guarantee it will eventually completely pack in and you will be miles from nowhere. sods law.
takes me about 20 mins to rip one out from start to finish and get the bike back to 'normal'

Mine does that after it's been stood, seemed ok after I'd charged the battery.

It's a Datatool, you can expect a lot more of this type of thing. I'm not sure how many alarm systems are out there, 5/6 probably, but it seems to me that there are more 'HELP' posts here about datatool than any other. In fact I can't remember any other systems being posted about before. Datatool however seem to be a persitent problem. I've had one....never again. Bin it asap you will save yourself a lot of trouble in the long run imo. Good luck.....

Thanks for the replies

Well I have found a problem but not the cause. The fuse had blown. I replaced it and as soon as I turned the alarm off (which it did but dont again now ->) it blew again.

The only thing I can remotly imagine it being is the indicators that I just put on allowing too much flow. What dont make sense is that they are pretty much the same indicators that were already on... yes that sounds strange but one had blown and the bulbs weld themselves in (they are cheap after markets).

SOOOOOO my new question, what can cause the fuse to go "pop"?

Cheers

You havent got your indicators activated have you?

Like left in the turn left or right position, seems silly but that can cause problems, such as my system 3 flashes the sidelights as i havent got a diode in the circuit

Sigh. There aint a great deal I can do. Its not as easy to take out as some of the earlier systems... Ill see what I can find.

First thing to check is with new fuse and no indicators (or at least not the new ones) and see where it goes from there...
