Theres many options when changing the front forks and im not to sure what to go for, so instead of me asking the repetitive what forks should I go for question, im gonna ask what forks did YOU go for and WHY and how many mods did you have to make other then forks/yokes/calipers/wheel

GSXR 750 L or M mdel, only because I won them on EBAY. Better than stock, but not as trick or light as later model GSXR SRAD ones
However the guy I won them off got a one off spindle & Spacers made up, so I could use the Sv front wheel & speedo drive The advantage of the L or M model USD forks is that the steer stem is the same size as an SV, uses the same top & bottom stearing head bearings. So minimal mods to OEM stuff Have a look in my albums, you'll see pictures of my conversion

GSXR SRAD 600.
Dead easy. Even better revalved and sprung too. Quote:
And then get custom spindle and spacers made. Harder than SRAD stuff unless you get lucky like you did.

Yep, I did get lucky ![]() I had to wait flippin ages though, as the engineer who made the spindle had some family problem during the machining. I waited over 6 months to recieve them, but it was worth the wait

But you got to admit... for regular guy buying parts off ebay... it's a lot of hard work.
For SRAD, you need a hammer. For yours you need a lathe and a TIG welder...

Mine in bits at the moment, doing valve shims and replacing forks with GSXR750 K7 ones
![]() I've got the bottom yoke in (straight fit in a pointy). Forks are in but I haven't got a top yoke yet (CAD CAM doing overtime at the moment). I was going to fit the SV front wheel, but the speedo drive is too wide for the fork spacing ![]() The 750 forks, I believe, are a bit longer then the 600 ones, so closer to stock length. After I get everything to fit, I have got to go down the re-spring/re-valve route (YC I am on it, Honest ![]() |

I used SRAD simply because it looked the easiest to do and gave me matching wheels.
I'd like to say I chose the 750 over the 600 after careful thought about the relative merits of USD and RWU forks - but really it was just for the bling. ![]() |

No performance difference worth mentioning between them TBH.
Given choice again I'd probably go for later ones with radials... as there are some calipers that are a full generation of development or 2 better than the 80s tech tokicos on SRAD now.

![]() I did think the 750 yokes gave me options if I wanted to change further down the road but TBH I now can't imagine I'd ever be that bored. |

Swapping yokes is easy... 600/750 one uses same bearings so would be easy for me to swap that way.
Power and feel, the 4-pad ones from ZX10R are reputed to be mentally good. That said, the normal ones from the SRAD are pretty damn good with a good master cyl, so the improvement isn't that massive.
