The bikes don't get strapped, you stay with the bike - not a problem unless your bike sits dangerously close to vertical and can fall to the right
You can take gas refills just fine - only thing they get twitchy about is loose petrol cannisters, it's LPG cars that can't use the Chunnel ![]()

Just park up, if you can angle it with front wheel against the kerb and the side stand not on the metal drain cover super bonus, but tbh the guys on there keep changing their mind on how they want you to park up. Take some food to pass the time and hope there isn't a delay. I once got trapped in one of those metal boxes for an hour and a half on the bike.

Just noticed where you are, Warren - you probably get very fed up with 'I wish I was in Carrickfergus'
![]() I don't think the ship makes you bring your own straps.... Tunnel is very easy ![]() |

Every boat I've been on that needed straps provided them, just watch where they strap them as some Miguel on the Spain-->Morocco ferry thought the ideal place to racjhet down the bike was my brand new front brake disc ![]() When we were on the tunnel and I wanted to leave the bike unattended I just took one of the small webbing straps off the roll bag and used it to strap the left hand tank crash bar to the yellow hand rail you can see n the pics, would prevent the bike even getting vertical, let alone falling over, leave it in gear and it can't roll forward or back either, job jobbed ![]() Enjoy your trip

It is a strange feeling sitting next to your bike when its parked up on a train going under the sea. Last time I came back through the Tunnel we had 2 UK Police bikes parked up with us. Couldn't see them for dust once we got to Folkestone.
My best advice: make sure you've got your passport and ticket to hand - eg inside jacket pocket. Unlike the person I was travelling with who had theirs safely stored in the bottom of their tailpack... |

Oh and another piece of advice, don't try and wheelie between the two passport controls, even if someone who really ought to know better tells you it's OK to do so.....
