Default Refrigerator Questions

My fridge has just started making funny noises. Every now and a gain a motor type noise would cut in and out which I guess is thermostat controlled. Just recently this noise is permanently on and the fridge doesn't seem particularly cool. It is a combined fridge freezer and the frozen items are still frozen. Do fridges need to be re-gassed from time to time (like aircon)???

If it's been shifted from pillar to post then you should usually let the gasses settle.
Is it well stocked? I tend to find that if the fridge is nearing empty it seems to be noiser, time to visit the beer fairies my friend!

It's been in the same place for the last 4 years.

its fubar'd - mines has just done the same - you could regass it but a lot places won't do this. Its a real bummer when the freezer still works too!

Possibly the compressor. Mine did this and the local small repairs guy said it would be more expensive to fix than to replace.
