Default MPG

I got my K5 last year and was not so pleased with it's fuel consumption but later on realised it was due to my right hand.Recently I've been getting a bit more careful with that same hand just to eke the maximum from a gallon of the precious fluid and yesterday the tank was emptied at the rate of 63 mpg.My regular was working out at approx. 48 to 52.
All in all,a Jekyl and Hyde of a bike!

I knocked my scottoiler onto 8 (norm on 3) just before a 300mi trip. The chain got all hot (motorway) and wet and she beacme all lovely and smooth as silk to ride.now an unbeliveable pleasure around london n slow speed and any speed infact. Made more of a diference then the dynojet clever box of tricks (pointy).I will keep chain permanently overlubed now.

but reduced av fuel consumption by 6mpg! (55 to just +60mpg)

i average 40 to 50 mpg and its all through the right hand movement.
If i go on a motorway cruise it seems to be higher as I seem to have the throttle open a little bit to maintain speed
