Default "Chez" Guevara (See what I've done there?! :) )

Yes I've been sitting on that one for a long time.

Just got the word that Mrs G and I have completed on our very first house (pics to follow). A lovely new house that backs on to a park in an established development. I even have a double garage, which should prove useful if/when my stolen KTM is returned!

A word about my solicitor. It will come as no suprise that I employed the services of the org's very finest (Ed). He has jumped through more hoops than a circus lion to get this wrapped up for us today, ensuring that we weren't otherwise left homeless on the bank holiday weekend. Not to mention that as a 1st-time buyer in a relatively new country, I was but a babe lost in the woods. Ed took me by the hand and has shown me the path!

Praise Ed! Sheperd to the newbie, and protector of all that is good in the Kingdom of Real Estate (and various other legal matters)!!!

Congratulations! (and wel done Ed)

You know this lot are going to want to warm your house, don't you? It's a quaint English tradition where you supply the beer, and they upset your new neigbours by throwing up in their garden.

Thanks all. The enthusiasm of the first weekend in the new house was tempered by a dodgy curry on Sunday night which left me with gastroenteritis and feeling like I was on Death's door for 3+ days. I never new I had that much fluid in me to lose...

Still this weekend is looking fine, so I plan to make the most of it by not making plans to be anywhere else but home (we'll see if Mrs G doesn't scupper that one). Hopefully I'll get to finish sorting the garage (already have workbenches and industrial shelving in place). The electrician will be around to see about getting the alarm system extended to the garage as well (handy for when the KTM finally comes home).

Pics as promised (these are "old" -everything is now finished of course and the construction crap cleaned up):

The Man-Cave! Mine's the one on the left, which is good because I have about a 6'-wide strip up the side that will fit a shed to keep the garden crap away from the interesting things. It's not gigantic, but not bad at 17'x17' and has an electric door, lights, loads of power points, and water!:
