Default -2PSI in a week

Both my tyres have lost 2 PSI since last weekend. Does that seem normal? Is it maybe something to do with the hot weather?

I haven't used the bike all week

The front wheel has a dent in it and I noticed a small cut in the rear tyre last week, so I'm being a bit paranoid just now.

I replaced the cheap plastic caps with decent metal ones from BMW and it made a huge difference.

Can't see a 2 psi a loss in a week a problem esp with the temperatures varying so much at the moment

I've got metal valves and caps so it shouldn't be that.

Mine have changed by a similar amount. I put it down to the temperature change.

On my other bike the front has lost 20psi in three days. That's down to the big nail in the tyre.

I was loosing about 4-5psi, turned out to be the valve. You could try spraying water with washing up fluid on the valve to see if it leaks air.

Or gob onto the schrader. Don't rely on your valve caps to hold ANY pressure! They're to stop dirt getting in and not air getting out.
