Default The SV is going.can i still come back !!

Hi,

I have had her for 2 year, loved every minute, and hopefully learned a lot along the way. Over the last few week and months i have started looking for the "next step".........and have had my head battered reading reviews etc. I went out last week to do the usual touring of the dealers.
I was sure in my head it would be a gixxer, out of a choice of gsxr, cbr rr, zx6r, triumph 675. The triumph was ruled out as there wernt any in the age range (06-07) local, the cbr seemed too small, and i had dismissed the ninja for being to focused....i was sure it would be a gixxer. After my initial showroom search i went up to kawasaki newcastle, as they had a gixxer in at a decent price, and it was in blk, which i thought i wanted. Anyway, when he pulled it out for me to sit on i saw her, she was sat right next to the gixxer......and even though i went for the gixxer i couldnt take my eyes off her. The girl in question was a pristine condition zx6r in kwak green on an 07 plate with coming up to 6k on. I still thought i wanted the gixxer, but now simply couldnt decide.
They were spot on at kwak newcastle, and let me take them both out. Even when i went up for my test ride i was trying to talk myself out of the ninja (even though i loved her) for the few months in my head it was ALWAYS going to be a gixxer. SO i took the gsxr out first and it was nice. First thing i noticed was how much lighter, smoother and quicker everything was.....and no, im not knocking the sv, i love her. I liked the gixxer ride, but i wasnt as impressed as id hoped. Then he pulled the ninja out, and straight away i felt myself smile as i saw her. I pulled away and for the first 30 seconds i thought it was less cumfy, but tbh i dont think it was any more or less cumfy than the gixxer, and even the ride position wasnt as prone as id expected, very little diference from my sv, but the whole ride just felt so balanced. The clutch was sublime, the gears felt so good, the brakesutstanding.......and the speed was bluddy ridiculous. It sounds weird but i just clicked, and loved her. I got off and said to the sales guy how i wanted to love the gixxer and hate the ninja, but i couldnt, as i loved the ninja.....so the deal was done.
Got a decent price for my beloved SV and i pick up the zx6R on wed..and i simply cant wait.
I would like to thank you all for your assistance over the past 2 years and hope im welcome back.....now im on the "other side"

cheers!!

Hope you enjoy. my mate has a ZX6R which he use to use for commuting and sunday blasts. Its now got over 18k on and looks as good as new. I had a kwak Z750 on an 07 plate and loved it. i'd definately have another. You'll have to put a can on the Ninja. IMO you can't beat the kawasaki burble especially on the over run!!
enjoy

TBH that was another thing i loved about the ninja, the sound..gives you a tingle. On the reviews they said the gixxes sounded better, but it was a no brainer for me personally. The standard can is fine for me for the time been.

Hi Jackie,

TBH i thougth your review had helped me decide against the ninja, as it firmed up my thoughts that it might be too much for me, and too focused, but when i rode her it just felt right, and not raw or scary as i thought, infact it felt really managable, and i couldnt stop smiling

'Tis a good move

I found the gixxer a little boring too. Very competent, just a little duller than the Kwak.

Right, now the chit-chat's over about your new bike:
Go, go now, you ex-SV expat in Kwakland! Do not pass Go, do not collect £100
Oh, enjoy your new wheels & keep in touch.
