Default Newbie - Woking

Hello!

This is my first post having just bought a yelllow K4 SV650S last week as a replacement for my written off 97 GSX-R SRAD (I survived mostly unscathed, bike not so lucky ).

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to people in the area. I have a fair few friends with bikes, but none with an SV. I've also never written on a forum before, so this is all new

Perhaps the GSX-R wasn't the best choice for my first bike! But having passed my test 7 years ago and not ridden since, I wasn't sure what to get when i decided to finally get my own bike 2 years ago and chose on looks rather than practicality.

Firstly, I love the SV - it rides and sounds great! and love this forum - I've learned so much already just reading through previous posts.

I'm trying to get used to a) going from an older to a newer bike and b) not getting scared every time I go into a corner (flashbacks to my accident!) - the SV turns much more easily and is quicker off the line that the Gixxer.

I'll stop going on now, but just wanted to introduce myself!

Rach

Thanks!

I saw that, but sadly have to go to a wedding instead on the Saturday

I'll keep an eye out for the next meet though

Thanks Stu,

I've been looking for something like this since I came off! I think it was due to lack of experience and lack of concentration, but having got back on the bike, I've realised I don't really know what I did wrong, so I need some help!

Is there a session in Ripley next Tuesday then? as if so I'd definitely like to come along. Do you have any more details?

The only worrying part is that the only other accident I've ever had was on my way home from one of these meets! hopefully I won't be repeating that though...

Oops! yup I always note the irony when I'm late (usually most of the time) and racing to one of the meets.

Yup 8pm on the 27th and then 9:30am on the1st with annual summer BBQ afterwards at Bisley for £5 if you like.

What can I tell you about the observing?

Good and bad news - I can definitely make the 27th but am Surfing in Devon on the 1st so can't make that date

I think it's probably worth coming along on the Tuesday anyway though to say hello and see what it's all about, the last meet I went to was about 7 years ago, so I really don't remember much from it.

Will you be going this Tues? Hopefully see you there if so

Definitely worth coming down. So long as it doesn't put you off The riding is much more fun.

Will see if I can make it next week Tuesday
