Having the seat of my 2016 SV remodelled this week. The standard seat height is just about spot on for me but the modded set will add 5 -10 mm to the height. To offset this I am fitting 300 mm Dogbones which will drop the back end of the bike by 15 mm. My question is, how much show I raise the forks in the yolks to complement the rear reduction. Thanks.

from experience lowering links drop the tail more than the seat and raising the forks through gives you the seat hight. personally i would go no more than 15mm.
put a bit of tape above the rear axle or find a datum that you can use to take a measurement then measure from the rear axle to that datum before you change the links. once you change the links then take the same measurement again and work out the difference in hight. the difference is what you would want to lower the front by. |
