Top end android or latest iphone.
Which would you have and why? I have the desire and chose it over the iphone based on price and it's petty much open to do and download anything from the off. It has all the benefits of the iphone without the drawbacks and restrictions and ridiculous price. |

I just got the Desire, I'm on 3 network and could have waited for an iPhone 4, however a few mates in work have them and I'm not that impressed with them. I don't like iTunes anyway, so happy with the Android, which is easy to tether (use as a router/modem on a laptop) and stream telly etc. Got a great little GPS app as well that logs your lap times and G forces etc when doing track days (a bit like Race Chrono for the Nokia), however need to sort out an external GPS antenna for it.

I'd have the Desire too - I'm biased though cos I've got a Hero at the moment!
I hate iTunes so that's the dealbreaker for me with the iPhone... |

I have a Hero and both my parents have the Desire. It's an awesome phone really, although the iphone has better apps in my opinion

I have an iPhone 4 and I am sending this message from it whilst currently lying in my bed! anyway I've not tried the htc but did have an iPhone 3G before this one. I just love the way my iPhone works, it does what I want/need straight out of the box no faffing about.
when it came to upgrading, I synched the old phone with iTunes then synched it up with the new phone, everything transferred over, messages, contacts, even my last dialogs numbers log! it just works and works well in my opinion. as for slating iTunes, I've never had any problems with it. I even transferred from one computer to another and it's all been good! very simple drag and drop stuff and no need to delve into things. as I said, it's all just worked perfectly out of the box for me. maybe I'm a minority but been a very happy apple customer! |

iPhone4 it's the best smart phone on the market.
There is nout wrong with the iPhone4 Evey phone will drop bars if held around the anntena i can make my on call phone drop to 0 bars its a nokia 2323 and my partners blackberry 8900 I can make it happen on that too,do you actually know what% of users have reported the signal problem 1.7% it works fine it seems more of a problem for people that don't own one . Mine works fine and much better signal that my old iPhone 3G had I get 3G in places I only used to get edge. As I always say something is only worth what your willing to pay for it, but I hate that second best feeling lol. In the hand it just got this quality feel to it like it's made from a solid chunk of granite, it's not like your regular Korean plastics company phone that the battery cover pops off when you put it on the desk, to look at it is flawless and the OS just runs beautifully, For me having a computer/phone with a full blown Internet-age OS with thousands of applications which are the finest selection of apps available on any Smartphone, 960x640 326dpi IPS LED displays gorgeous and is currently the best available, a 5Mpix autofocus backlit camera with 720p video the quality is also superb, 512MB RAM, 16GB flash, GPS, 802.11n wifi, HSPDA/UPA 3G networking, compass, Gyroscope and standards-based high-res H.264 video conferencing, no tweaks necessary, all lasting well more than a day on battery fitted into a slick clean classy thin device and is worth the extra 100 pounds..... And once the jail break is released in the next few week you won't have to put up with any restrictions and anyone that says it voids ur warranty or breaks your phones shouldn't own a smartphone IMO lol
