Default My short trip to the Isle Of Man (Image heavy)

Spent a couple of days this week in the fair isle & loved the place. Many thanks to Luckypants for recommending the Campsite in Peel & for the advice on not booking for too long a stay I have been a massive fan of the TT, but when I was married my wife didn't like motorbikes & now I can't really afford to go, so it seemed an idea to go when it wasn't on. The 3 day trip cost £112 including the camping. It was great to ride the circuit, in fact I ended up doing it twice in a day.
I am going to book next year to watch the Southern 100 after Phil (the warden at the campsite) told me that I had missed it by a week.
Sorry about the quality of the photos, I only have my phone at the moment.

Weather was decidedly dodgy as we came into Douglas

Really busy campsite there were 6 people camping.

The Grandstand at Douglas

Obligatory tourist shot. Met a couple of bikers on Kawasaki ZX10s doing the same.

Couple of nice plaques at the start line

They leave all of the race signs in place

Ballaugh Bridge

Sulby Bridge

Ramsey Prom

Nice church in Ramsey centre. 7.45am, god, I'm sad

Ramsey Docks

Electric Tram

On the Mountain course. The view back into Ramsey from Guthries

Guthries memorial

Dunlop Memorial.

Creg ny baa, bit misty. From Hailwoods rise to here you couldn't see your hand in front of your face because of the fog.

Douglas Prom, as you can see, it was a bit quiet lol.

When I was a child I remembered seeing a big red water wheel & that was always my image of the Isle of man, so went to find the Laxey Wheel.

Walking up to the wheel, there was a little area of forest & I took this photo, I'm well chuffed with it.

On the opposite side of the road was the Victoria Wheel.

On the way back I called at Old Laxey, again it was deathly quiet. I met a couple on a Honda Valkrie & they were saying how nice it was being so quiet. I had to agree.

Riding back to Douglas I just couldnt resist stopping & taking in the scenery, it is so beautiful.

The beach at Peel.

Peel Castle

This was a church in Jurby that I saw on top of a hill, so had to take a picture of it.

Packed up on the final morning. I had about 6 hours to waste before the ferry left, so thought I would take in the Southern part of the Island

View towards Port Saint Mary.

At the same place, but looking towards Castletown

Port St Mary. Possibly the most picturesque place I have ever visited, I just fell in love with it.

Castletown.

I was a week late

Well, that was it. It has been one of the best short breaks I have ever had & will definitely be going again, next July is looking favourite for the Southern 100. Who needs the mega expensive TT fortnight?

Awesome pics there Mister C, you definitely need to get yourself a nice posh camera, you got the eye

some cracking shots there, I'm a sucker for landscapes at the moment so I really like this one:

Wondered where you had got to as you had been very quiet and hadn't seen you on the A530 as I've been getting up a bit earlier recently. Looks like you had a great time though, nice to see the pics. keep meaning to get there myself sometime, one day..

Thanks for sharing :0)

Cheers Brettus. I should have a decent camera next month. My mate is updating his kit & I have 1st refusal, so will be the proud owner of a Canon camera with a couple of lenses.

I would recommend anybody to go to the Isle, it is just gorgeous wherever you go.
