ok I have a 2005 K5 sv650S and am not happy with the suspension the front clonks over bumps and I dont have much confidence in it. Now I will be shortly coming into some cash that I could spend on improving the bike. I am thinking of new springs and a new shock, I know some of you will say Zx10 shock and GSXR front end but I havent the time or ability to search out the parts to fit them.
I am thinking maxton springs and shock which would come to about £400 would that be money well spent or better to put it towards changing the bike for something better ???? |

Front springs and rebuild your brakes are a must....clonk goes away and it handles perfectly.

Wavy discs are waste of money.
Maxton shock £300? I thought they were more than that TBH.

GSXR shock and some progressive springs, new oil. Total cost £150 if you are unlucky, surely worth the £250 extra by doing research to find out which shock you need?
The rest can be spent on a track day or insurance or fuel.

if you are 10stone ish just try thicker oil. My mate got away with it and only cost him a tenner.
I had to go springs and oil which was £100. Just make sure you got tidy rubber on it as my mate has the original grease tyres on it still after telling him to get rid. |
