Hi guys, just bought my first SV650s 99 today and so far very impressed but i have a problem with some electrics i hope someone could shed some light on.
Basically I have no main beam or high beam just a side light. When i do put the main beam on the indicators illuminate (not flashing but steady glow). Also when i go to indicate the dash dies all except the rev counter and the digi display turns off and only the rear indicators flash. ** Edit** also same happens when i press the flash button the dash dies and i have no horn now :/ This is as clear as i can put it but any help would be much appriciated. thanks liam Last edited by liamhicks1989; 28-08-11 at 04:11 PM. |

Sounds like a bad earth to the front bit of the loom, pull all the connectors you can find around the front end and check for rust and fuzz

Give em a clean up and a little protection and you should be good for a while.

If you are going to commute on the bike if it hasnt got a front fender extender, get one. The frontspark plug can get affected by water and you end up running on 1 cylinder, there is a water drain hole nr the front plug that needs to be clear of crud. If you can use a multimeter check the voltages at the plug for the reg/rec foot brake side of the bike under the seat cowl, there are loads of threads here that tell you what to look for.
