Afternoon all,
after searching and finding much confusion can someone tell me is the first service still labour free and you only pay for parts??? as im lead to belive ... or is the garage(Padgetts Batley) right and i should be paying £99 Plus VAT??? i know i could get it done free from mates but i want full dealer service history. regards Tom.

Most dealers will now charge what they can get away with.
If you have not bought a bike yet, get them to agree a price to include 1st service. I was happy to pay £50 extra to include 1st service as this was around going rate for parts etc before. The opposite end of spectrum is when the dealer wants to check valves as part of 600mile service. On a DV700, this goes up to over £200. SMcG in Glasgow |

Free labor and I still end up paying £150 once added all the bits and VAT. They cost more to service than cars, even with the "free" labor.

the 600 mile service is similar to a 16k service (the way i've picked it up) and everything is checked to make sure its running fine

The first service is only free now if you arrange that with them at time of purchase. My first service on the CBR in July cost me £100.
