Default Car horns - the new doorbell?

well, apparently they are round here for a good number of people.

I'm probably over-sensitive about this since I have a 3yr old son who is generally kipping from 8pm or so, but I find it rude, inconsiderate and lazy to stop outside a house and bang on the horn a few times, rather than take 20 seconds to hop out and knock on the door. Or if you really are that lazy, send a text.

Got so riled about it tonight I went out and had a little chat with the eejit who woke my son up because he couldn't be arsed to walk the 7 yards from kerb to front door of a house to pick up his lass.

I don't remember this occurring much from other places I have lived, but then I never had a young son to be woken up until 3 years ago, so maybe I just didn't notice. Or maybe I am just getting to the age where more and more dumb stuff winds me up. Or maybe people are getting more and more lazy and inconsiderate. Or maybe all three.

Rant over.

Being inconsiderate with noise is probably the worst thing there is, hate car horns, hate unbaffled bikes and cars, dump valves fitted to Rover 400's and loose kids after 9pm!

There's some idiot who has a general lee style (or similar) car horn that plays a stupid tune who like to ride around at 6.45AM sounding off like a ****.

Lazy teenage drivers are also bad, next door neighbours kids arrive and then toot the horn to pick them up.

The same time they close their back door with a crash loud enough to wake the dead

I do believe it is against the law to be stationary in a vehicle and sound the horn as it is supposed to be used as a warning to other road users and pedestrians!!

I'm sure some of our police officers on the org will correct me if i am wrong.

If this is a regular occurance with the same car or taxi company then why not report them?

Next door neighbours daughter comes to visit her parents and every time without fail when she leaves she peeps the horn and waves. The thing that also gets me is she only stays less than half a mile away and never walks.
