Default Bike cutting out when slowing down

A follow on from the other thread. I have adjusted the cables today as I suspected the re-routing of the clutch could be the problem. However that appears to be fine.

As I approach a stop in first gear, the revs will drop to just below 1000 rpm, then after 2 seconds pick back up to the normal running rpm of 1350rpm. However sometimes as I am coming up to stop the engine doesn't seem able to cope and dies. I have ridden 150 miles today and it has done it maybe 8 times.

The bike is a 2010 Sport, so there is no option to adjust the idle screw manually as there isn't one.

At idle the rpm is bang on as the book says.

Anyone got any ideas?

It is nothing to do with the comfort kit as it was doing it before.

I have also got a remus can, and pipercross filter, with SV1000 snorkel.

The problem seemed to start around the time i fitted an alarm. I scotched locked into the thick orange ignition cable at the fuse box to get a postive ignition feed, as per the instructions with the alarm - Could that be a source?

Sounds like your throttle cables maybe, you wouldnt have touched anything else unless you havent assembled all the stuff in the airbox properly.
What did you take off in the airbox ? not an expert on this stuff but if you disturb something connected with the mixture, ie air, then it will run crap.

My golf gti i had a few years ago, done the same thing, it turned out to be a loose hose clamp on the airflow meter, made it run like crap with cutting out.

Sorry didnt read you rpost properly about it happening before, i have heard before about performance filters affecting running, dont think you gain much from them anyway apparently.

It must be a fueling issue then in regards to the air filter, can you put the stock one back on easy to try it ?

Do you need a remap for performance filters?

Yeah I could put it back in no prob's in about 2 mins, but I am off away tomorrow. I am considering a pilgrimage to Steve Jordans in surrey to get him to fettle the bloody thing. He is a Suzi dealer too, and can do remaps!

how does the idle behave when you just rev the bike in neutral?

Get it checked under warranty? Could be a nasty gremlin that'd be well worth getting out in the open.................

Not sure how the warranty department would look upon an SV1000 snorkal on a SV650...just giving them an excuse to get out of anything tbh.

I realise that, I will put it back to stock before taking it in. I am sure they will have something to say about the top yoke conversion though. Because I aren't taking that off.
